Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Shamsi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and Vice President of the International Federation, described the UAE Community Sports Events Award as a reinforcement of the strategy of the General Authority for Sports within its transformational project "UAE: A Destination for Sports Events." This aims to raise awareness of the importance of sports participation among various community members.
He clarified that the enthusiasm shown by federations, institutions, and individuals to participate in the inaugural edition of the award highlights its significance and pivotal role in instilling correct sports concepts by offering innovative community sports programs to expand the base of sports practitioners and to build a healthy society motivated to enhance the UAE's global leadership in various sports fields.
Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the winners in all award categories, stating that this represents an incentive for their development in past editions to encourage community members toward creative initiatives in community sports. He also congratulated the Emirates News Agency (WAM) for winning the Best Media Entity Promoting Community Sports Culture award, reinforcing its crucial role in reflecting sports activities and highlighting their importance.
