Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al-Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, attended the fourth edition of the Phoenix Games 2024 on Saturday, September 28, 2024, held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The event saw participation from over 300 athletes from various countries and is considered one of the strongest fitness championships in the region.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the efforts of the organizing committee and Aspire Zone in coordinating this significant event. He expressed his appreciation for the close collaboration between the Fitness Committee of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and the organizing committee, commending the efforts of organizers Khalid Hamadi and Khalid Nabina. Their contributions led to the achievement of the highest standards of organization and professionalism, elevating the level of competition and expanding their scope regionally.
The competitions resulted in champion Radwan Al-Jadouni winning first place for the second consecutive year. The second place was claimed by UAE representative player Mohammed Al-Omda, who returned to the podium after a long recovery period, while Moroccan Idriss Boucha was in third place.
In the masters category for athletes over 40, Qatari Fadi Murad secured first place, followed by British Greg Horton in second, and Bahraini Bader Mohammed in third.
In the team competitions, "CrossFit Al Ain" took first place, while "Irada X Perform" came in second, and the Emirati team "QHPT Training" finished in third.
At the conclusion of the championship, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Sharqi emphasized the importance of such events in enhancing the Gulf countries' standing and their prominent role in developing sports and fitness in the region. He commended the efforts of all parties involved in making the event a success.
For his part, Ahmed Al-Ali, a member of the Emirates Fitness Committee, described the success of the championship as evidence of significant progress in organizational and competitive standards. He praised the high commitment shown by the athletes and organizers, affirming that such championships foster a spirit of challenge and contribute to the development of athletes' capabilities at both local and regional levels, enhancing the region's position as a leading destination for fitness competitions.
